The very first of the Southbank Centre’s summer festivals, Festival Brazil ran for 3 months across all of the venues. It featured legendary Brazilian artists, musicians, dancers authors and poets in an explosion of Brazilian culture.
As part of the festival, we commissioned a photobooth built by Standard8 which sat by the Thames. Clad in the festival branding, people were invited to have their picture taken, and sent to them by email. By the end of the Summer it had captured over 12,000 images of people enjoying the festival.
To inform the public, and tourists visiting the Southbank Centre throughtout the Summer we created a Festival newspaper. Freely available, it contained interviews with artists, photographs and a diary of up-coming events, as well as insights into Brazilian culture.
